The Orthopaedic Clinic provides care for pts within the St. Louis area and also patient's referred from other states. The full array of orthopaedic services include care of patients from motor vehicle accidents to clinic visits for scheduled pre and post orthopaedic surgeries. The clinic also provides primary and surgical care for sports injury.
Care Partners are responsible for meeting clinical needs of the patient and to aide the physician and support staff by providing skilled levels of patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Care Partners also perform clerical duties necessary to the functioning of the clinical unit. Some duties include:
•Delivers care requiring broad knowledge of aseptic technique, medical terminology and equipment.
•Assists nurses and physicians with procedures.
•Maintains knowledge of and operates equipment used in patient care safely.
•Retrieves patient care items that are not routinely available in the outpatient clinic rooms.
•Retrieves, recovers or follows up on patient's outpatient clinical needs.
•Prepares rooms prior to clinic appointments and following clinic appointments.
•Directs prompt and courteous attention to the outpatient clinic needs of patients, families, and visitors.
•Engages in service recovery activities referring unusual problems to Nurse Manager/ Designate.
•Recognizes needs and initiates appropriate action in regard to maintaining supplies and equipment.
